Beautifully classic yet resolutely modern. Tom Oberheim’s 1979 OB-X put the sound of the 8-Voice into a programmable polysynth and defined the shape of eighties records.
Oberheim® OB-X is the world’s first officially endorsed emulation: the sound everybody loves, upgraded with sixteen voices, X-Modifiers and everything a modern setup expects.
Scale the high-resolution interface to any size, crisp on any display.
More than 400 production ready presets from Lightbath, Tontario, Zardonic, Drew Neumann, Drew Schlesinger, Tom Wolfe, Dave Spiers and more, from resolutely modern to passionately classic.
Programmable Aftertouch and expanded Velocity with as many destinations as you need, plus four programmable Macros.
Japan, Ultravox, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Depeche Mode, Queen, Styx and Chris Franke all put the OB-X on record. GForce’s version is the first emulation to carry Oberheim’s official endorsement. The classic oscillators, the 2-pole OB-X filter, the four-stage filter, loudness envelopes and the original modulation section have all been modelled from the hardware, with a Vintage control to set exactly how beautifully imperfect you want it.
Poly, Mono, Legato and Unison with up to 16 voices, and individual voice pans for super wide stereo. From lush eighties pads to walls of unison lead, the OB-X sound has always been about size, and this one has more of it than the original ever did.
Separate PWM for each oscillator, discrete filter level and tracking, and a modulation section augmented with Sync, Intro, Retrigger, Phase, Smooth and a new Level destination. Prefer it exactly as 1979 left it? Revert to the original switches in the settings.
X-LFO and X-ADSR are pre wired to almost every parameter. Click a control, apply an amount, and watch the knob glow green as the modulation deepens. Hugely complex, yet musical.
A chord mode with a built in scaler is a lot of fun on its own. Add the arpeggiator and one finger becomes a whole part.
An authentic Chorus built specifically for OB-X, a Stereo Delay and a Matrix Reverb, each switchable from its own LED and lockable so your space stays put while you browse patches.
