GForce Installer requires Win7 or newer, or Mac OSX 10.15 (Catalina) or newer.

No. Although it is the easiest method for authentication, there is an offline activation pathway in the plugins and GForce Installer.

For perpetual licences, once activated, the plugins will never access the internet again.

For subscription licences the plugins will access the internet once per subscription period. Or require you to complete the offline activation process once per subscription period.

No. The GForce Installer only runs when you open it to install or uninstall things.

Mac users: the “Background Processes” that macOS alerts you to are only run whilst the GForce Installer application is open. Literally the installation and uninstallation processes.

Unfortunately the GForce Installer is only aware of expansion pack installations that it did.

You can connect the installer to a previously installed expansion pack by opening the menu on the expansion’s card in the GForce Installer and selecting Connect Content. Point the installer to the installed content and it’ll update the card accordingly.

Yes. Individual installers are available from the My Instruments page in your account as they were before.

As little as possible! When activating a plugin we collect a unique computer identifier code and whether that computer is a Mac or a Windows PC. We keep and use this data to allow you to install a plugin multiple times on the same computer without using up activations. We use the Mac or PC identifier to display a little icon and information in your account page to help you see which computers are activated.

When you uninstall a plugin via the GForce installer we collect the same data again so that we can remove it from the activations count.

We do not collect information about when a plugin is run, or what you do with it. Our plugins only call the server for authentication (either once, or periodically depending on the licence type) and we do not collect usage data.

  1. Download and install the GForce Installer with an online computer.
  2. Log into the GForce Installer.
  3. Click the (…) button next to the instrument you wish to install.
  4. Select Download. This will download the installer to your downloads folder without installing it.
  5. After downloading, transfer the downloaded dmg (Mac) or exe (Win) file to your offline computer.
  6. Run the dmg or exe on the offline computer to install the software.
  7. Run the instrument.
  8. When faced with the log in screen, click Offline Activation.
  9. Click Create ID File and save the presented file.
  10. Transfer the ID file back to your online computer.
  11. Back in the GForce Installer application, click the menu dots next to your instrument again and select Offline Activation.
  12. Select your ID file. The GForce Installer will contact our server and create a unique activation file for your offline computer and product.
  13. Save the Offline Activation file.

TIP! If you have multiple products to activate on the offline computer you can reuse the same ID file for each one. So repeat steps 11 to 13 for each instrument you have.

  1. Transfer the offline activation file(s) to your offline computer.
  2. Drag and drop it onto the Offline Activation window in the instrument.
  3. Click Activate.

For M-Tron Pro IV, MkII, and VSM IV, you can still use custom library locations as you always have.

However, the GForce Installer will always place newly installed expansion packs in to the default library location. You can move the cpt2s to a custom location after installation by following the guide in the respective manuals.

Three.

Uninstalling a plugin via the GForce Installer will remove that activation from your account and free it up to be used again. So it is good practice to uninstall the plugins before changing computers.

If you’ve had your computer lost, stolen, or broken, before being able to uninstall the plugin, that activation will be stuck on your account. If you run out in these circumstances, please get in touch with support about it, we’ll help you out.

The instrument won’t check for a full licence until the 14 day trial period has expired.  If you purchase a licence during the 14 days, you’ll continue to see “expires in X days” in the account window until it finds the licence at the end of this period.

You will not have to log back in or re-authorise the plugin manually.

Our current system does not detect this automatically. Please contact us via Technical Support and we’ll assist you.
