Heading 1 Goes Here

Paragraphs look like this. We’ve already said that we no longer own an original Mellotron® because we got tired of the constant maintenance. However, that’s not to say we won’t change our mind anytime soon because, in terms of musical heritage, the debt owed to the original sound is beyond reproach and the magnificent M4000 from Streetly Electronics with its 24 sounds, might just be enough to persuade us to clear enough space in our studio again.

This is because, like the evolution of M-Tron to M-Tron Pro, the evolution from the original MkI to the M4000 is very evident, albeit with the path of the hardware being considerably longer and (even though we say it ourselves) more interesting. The following text has been adapted from Gordon Reid’s wonderfully informative Mellotron history that’s included in the M-Tron Pro manual.

Introduction

The m-tron pro virtual instrument is a remarkable emulation of the classic mellotron — the unique tape playback keyboard made famous by such luminaries as the beatles, yes, led zeppelin and the moody blues.

M-Tron

M-Tron

The original M-Tron is modelled on the legendary British instrument, the Mellotron™. The M-Tron captures all of the character of the original instrument by sampling every note of every key and adhering tothe eight second limit of each note. This way the nostalgic magic of each sound is closely observed - minor imperfections and all.

The authentic accuracy of every sound re-created by the M-Tron Pro is mind boggling. From the classic choirs to the flutes of 'Strawberry Fields' this platform is unmistakably retro 'tron.
