Slow Patch Loading on Ableton Live

Known Issue

Patches take several seconds to load.

Who it Affects

Ableton Live users using VST3 or AU format plugins. This particularly affects our larger synths with many hundreds of parameters.

Solution

We are sorry for this experience. We are aware of this issue and of Live stalling plugin process whilst parameters update, however there is a work around available to get it nice and quick:

  1. Load the GForce instrument in Live.
  2. The device section at the bottom of the screen will show the X/Y pad. If necessary, click the triangle to expand the device, so that you can see the Configure button.
  3. Press the Configure button, so that it turns green. If the instrument UI is not already open, this will open it.
  4. On the instrument’s header bar click the down arrow to load a new patch. This will populate Live’s configure window with every parameter on the synth.
  5. Disable the Configure mode.
  6. Right-click on the Device Title Bar to open the contextual menu, and select “Save as Default Configuration.” This will prevent having to do this process each time.
