The majestic Oberheim® 8-Voice sound of OB-E®, in a focused new interface.
Built with Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle, OB-EZ is not a lite version in terms of sound. It is OB-E under the hood, for producers who want that thick, organic Oberheim® tone in seconds.
Experience the huge, fat analogue sound of the Oberheim 8-Voice and OB-E in a streamlined, intuitive interface designed for instant creativity.
Hand picked from OB-E’s library to suit the OB-EZ control set, from sublime polyphonic keys and mega octaphonic pads to powerful unison basses.
Switch a patch from polyphonic to mono or legato in a click, then supersize it in unison for the fattest leads and basses in the box
Joe Zawinul, Styx, Rush and Jean-Michel Jarre built signature tones on the Oberheim 8-Voice, the first truly polyphonic synth most players ever touched.
As GForce’s OB-E® neared release, Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle, an Oberheim engineer in the 1980s, were impressed enough to suggest a collaboration and release an update carrying their full endorsement.
The Oberheim SEM™ and OB-X™ followed. OB-EZ continues that partnership, built to put the sound of OB-E in more hands than ever.
OB-EZ is not a lite version of OB-E in terms of sound. It is OB-E under the hood. The same authentic octaphonic 8-voice architecture powers every patch, which is why so few synths in the software domain sound this fat.
Connoisseurs will spot the parallel with the 1980 Oberheim OB-SX, the streamlined stage version of the OB-X™. OB-EZ takes the same approach. Cutoff, resonance, Amp and Filter envelopes, tuning, portamento, delay, reverb and more are all on the panel, and every tweak you make can be saved.
The authentic state variable Oberheim filter that defined the 8-Voice, with a Vintage knob for dialling in analog variation between voices.
A stereo Delay to thicken your sound or add a spatial dimension, the same lush Reverb as OB-E, four Panning Modes for wide soundscapes and Vibrato, all onboard.

At its heart OB-EZ is the Oberheim 8-Voice as Tom Oberheim intended it, modelled by GForce and refined with the people who built the originals. Nothing about the sound has been simplified.
Around that sound is an instrument built for speed. A focused control set, a powerful Preset Browser, CC MIDI mapping, Vintage variation, four Panning Modes and onboard Delay and Reverb get you to the tone in seconds. And when you want more, individual SEM™ voice controls, split patches, the sequencer, drum mode and 700+ presets are waiting in OB-E, which imports your OB-EZ presets directly.
