Dust-O-Tron

$49.99

Dusty, organic ‘Tron sounds from Sound Dust.

Pendle Poucher, the Brighton texture master whose libraries are trusted by composers from Trent Reznor to Gary Barlow, sampled his cave of strange instruments.

From an 1884 Dulcitone and a 1959 Hammond B3 to pianos played with kitchen sponges, then Streetly Electronics Tronized every note. 29 tape banks and over 200 patches for the M-Tron Pro IV.

Key features

A Sound Dust and GForce collaboration, with over 200 M-Tron Pro IV patches across 29 tape banks.

A 140-year-old Dulcitone, a 1959 Hammond B3 through a cranked Leslie, a Dolmetsch harpsichord and three pianos smudged into one.

Glitchy micro-looped electric pianos, haunted tuning forks, cassette choir bots and pianos played with a sponge and a thumb.

Found hits and drum loops stolen from the real world: fireworks, celery, snow, dripping taps and a huge oil tank.

The Sound Of Sound Dust

As Sound Dust, British artist Pendle Poucher creates strange and unique sample libraries from a Brighton studio that feels like an exotic cave, where everywhere you look there is an instrument you have never come across.

A long-time M-Tron Pro user with as much love for the original machines as for the software, he was the perfect sculptor to bring new textures to the most extensive collection of ‘Tron sounds in the digital world. The instruments he recorded went to Streetly Electronics to be Tronized through their Skeletron, then came back to Sound Dust for chopping and working into M-Tron Pro IV. Time-consuming and labour-intensive, and vital to staying true to the Mellotron’s ethos.

Dust-O-Tron Artist Expansion is also available with new purchases of the M-Tron Pro Complete bundle, which includes M-Tron Pro IV and all the Expansion Packs: a superb 12.5GB+ sound library with 525+ tape banks and 3700+ presets.
