Here at GForce, we’ve painstakingly emulated every section of the Oberheim OB-1, Oberheim OB-X, Oberheim OB-E and Oberheim SEM & TVS Pro to ensure sonic authenticity, right down to the analog inaccuracies of the original hardware instruments thus blurring the lines between analog character and digital precision. Every functional addition to these instruments was chosen to compliment the existing feature set and, very specifically, because it enhanced the sonic and musical qualities of the originals.

1. Oberheim OB-X

The OBERHEIM OB-X – BEAUTIFULLY CLASSIC YET RESOLUTELY MODERN

GForce’s Oberheim OB-X is the world’s first officially endorsed emulation of this famous 80s synth. Yet it sounds modern and lends itself superbly to Electronica, EDM, Drum and Bass, Ambient, Rock, Prog Rock, Hip Hop and more.

The original synth was used by immense artists and groups such as Japan, Ultravox, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Depeche Mode, Queen, Larry Dunn, Youth, Chris Franke, Styx and many more.

2. Oberheim OB-E

The OB-E – An Oberheim Octaphonic Sonic Adventure

The Oberheim OB-E is our take on the legendary Oberheim® 8-Voice and the first software instrument ever to receive Tom Oberheim’s personal endorsement.

More than just an emulation, OB-E offers a unique musical experience. Sounding HUGE, it takes the iconic Synthesizer Expander Module (SEM®) based 8-Voice into new sonic territory via a raft of enhancements and additions.

The concept of the original 8-Voice is actually very simple; based around a single SEM containing two VCOs with Pulse and Sawtooth waveforms, two ADS Envelope Generators, one LFO, and a magical Multi-Mode Filter. In isolation each SEM is monophonic, but in the 8-Voice, because there are eight different SEMs triggered by a polyphonic keyboard, you have a superb eight note polyphonic synthesizer.

This unique Octaphonic architecture offers fresh and exciting creative possibilities to music producers, composers and sound designers for the first time in the digital realm.

When Tom Oberheim created the first Oberheim® Synthesizer Expander Module (model SEM-1) in 1974, he had one goal – to make a synth that sounded great, whilst being extremely simple to use. In the decades since the release of this iconic synth, it’s been used by countless legendary musicians, making the SEM one of the most revered synthesizers of all time.

The Oberheim OB-EZ – Simply Majestic

The Oberheim OB-EZ is an OB-E with the same FAT Oberheim 8-Voice Sound designed in a new, focused interface. It was created for producers who want to inject that thick, organic and majestic sound in their tracks quickly with a new streamlined workflow.

OB-EZ is not a lite version of the multi-award-winning OB-E in terms of sound; it is OB-E under the hood. We’ve selected over 260 of the most beautiful presets designed for OB-E that fit the OB-EZ control set, ensuring optimal tweaking potential. Thanks to their unique octaphonic architecture, not many synths sound as fat as these in the software domain.

It’s incredible that the hardware Oberheim OB-1 has remained under the radar for so long. With the GForce OB-1 emulation, designed in collaboration with Oberheim, we’re bringing this classic synth to the fore. The GForce Oberheim OB-1 broadens the Oberheim sound palette in ways that we believe will see it become a big favourite among techno and electro producers and underground artists, as well as composers for its character and anyone cherishing vintage analogue tones.

Oberheim TVS Pro – A DUOPHONIC LEGEND, REBORN WITH MODERN POWER.

In 1975, Tom Oberheim revolutionised synthesiser design with the original TVS – Two Voice Synthesizer. By combining two SEMs and a keyboard, he introduced true duophony to the world—enabling musicians to play two independent voices simultaneously and explore harmonically rich, evolving soundscapes.

Decades later, the TVS Pro modernised that vision, adding a built-in sequencer, extended modulation, and refined controls—all while staying true to its unmistakable sonic DNA.

Now, with the GForce Oberheim TVS Pro plugin, this landmark instrument enters a new era. Developed in collaboration with Oberheim, this recreation captures not only the depth, warmth and character of the original, but also the spirit of innovation that made it extraordinary.
