A faithful and inspiring reimagining of the iconic Two Voice Synthesizer
“Combining two SEMs and a step sequencer has always produced great results–nothing really sounds like it. So, I’m excited to see Gforce bring this to life as a virtual instrument so that many more people can discover its unique character.” Tom Oberheim
London, UK –29th April 2025 – As we celebrate 50 years of the original TVS, GForce Software and Oberheim are delighted to announce the release of the Oberheim TVS Pro plugin – a richly authentic and expressive recreation of the legendary duophonic synthesizer. Developed in collaboration with Oberheim, the TVS Pro plugin captures the unmistakable analogue warmth and depth that made the original so iconic, while enhancing it for modern music-making.
Originally introduced in 1975, the Oberheim TVS (Two Voice Synthesizer) was built around two SEMs (Synthesizer Expander Modules) paired with a keyboard – enabling true duophonic performance for the first time. Reimagined decades later as the TVS Pro with sequencing and modulation features, the instrument has earned cult status, used by artists such as Martin Gore, Adrian Utley, The Prodigy, Peter Baumann, and Nils Frahm.
Now, GForce Software has brought the TVS Pro’s spirit to life in plugin form – with the same sonic character, refined workflows, and over 635 patches, including 220+ new sounds and 400+ converted SEM patches

Authenticity at the Core – With Tom Oberheim’s Seal of Approval
The TVS Pro plugin features two fully modelled SEMTM voices, each with dual VCOs, multi-mode filters, envelopes and modulation. The GForce development team meticulously captured the subtle analogue quirks and rich tone of the original hardware, resulting in a genuinely expressive software instrument that blends retro character with digital precision. We’ve also added a 3rd VCO which can be an LFO too, velocity and aftertouch which weren’t on the hardware, per SEM.
Built for Performance – Enhanced for Creativity
At the heart of the plugin is a powerful dual 16-step sequencer, perfect for building layered patterns and morphing textures on the fly. Onboard effects including a stereo delay, lush reverb and a phaser further expand the TVS Pro’s sonic palette – making it ideal for both intricate sound design and live performance.
