M-Tron Quotes

We use Oddity and M-Tron almost every day on tracks including LDN / Knock-em Out - Lily Allen & Wannabe - Dizzee Rascal

We've been working with the M-tron with great results - we're impressed!! In the past I've used a real Mellotron. I can't remember it sounding any different to the M-Tron, right down to individual notes on the same instrument having slightly different levels of attack. I love all the bumps and scrapes and the low end hum. It's the most unprecious sounding software ever created! M-Tron we love it - I found a note in one of the violin sections with a bend in it which made us laugh. If I spent as much time on the album tracks as I do on concocting new daft ideas on the M-Tron we'd be finished by now. So it's all your fault!

I thought I'd let you know that the folks down at the Blue Nile laboratories think that M-TRON is a winner..........a total delight...............

Classic Mellotron sounds from the sixties and seventies without the price, bulk or technical problems.

When it came to doing the music for Dr. Who and the Giant Robot I leapt at the chance of being able to use the MTron to good effect, as I would be standing in the shadow of the mighty Radiophonic Workshop. I put together a kind of pseudo classical piece with technological overtones and used the French Horn, cello and strings from the MTron to give it a sort of stacato cantering feel. I also included some of the kettle drum rolls for spooky bits. It all sounded rather authentic, I think. They liked it anyway!

For a long time, I was not a fan of software synths, finding them less intuitive and less musical than their hardware brethren. However, my view is changing, and much of the credit or blame lies at Gmedia's door.

I like Mtron, and the Oddity was the first software synth I used that combined an accurate representation of its inspiration, a good user interface and watertight operation.

With ImpOSCar, the company has gone still further and, now that everything works correctly, the additional benefits outweigh any reservations I might have had.

Beethoven needed these instruments! With these sounds I am all my heroes.

I'm pretty old school in my approach - using Juno 106's , Polysix's and 101's straight into ProTools , with an MPC for my drums - so I'm really not a soft synth lover, but still use your stuff exclusively on pretty much every track I do... the new Kano and Craig (David) albums feature the Minimonsta and M Tron really heavily!!!

- Fraser T Smith (Craig David, Plan B, Mutya, Kano)

I use the M-Tron to massive effect. I love it, it's amazing. The majority of the stuff I do I end up degrading the sounds. I'm constantly trying to make new stuff sound like old records and the MTron gives you that.

M-Tron - the strings for the discerning overweight indie rocker about town. Kiss my spotty, big, fat arse, synthesizer masterclaaaaasss!

The fact that I prefer to listen to organic music instead of electronic music brings me close to the M-Tron. I love its sound and wonderful warmth.

Totally authentic. I use it in the studio and live.

I just wrote a new National Anthem for Europe that was presented in Brussels at the weekend and I used M-Tron to create the voices on the main theme - very regal and worked fantastically. Thanks again to you for this great software.

When I joined Marillion in 1981 we used a real M400 but regretfully, I replaced it in 1983 with one of the first samplers, an Emulator. I've used sampled Mellotron on every Marillion album since, the best of which came from a very well preserved MkII. I've tried lots of different commercially released sampled Mellys but none of them impressed me much, until I heard the MTron.

With lots of faithfully reproduced Melly samples, there's every tron sound you could want with none of the drawbacks of the real thing. It's simple to use, and reliable, unlike my old MK400, so I'll be taking it on the road for our next tour too.

If you're into retro sounds the M-Tron is a must

You've got to be kidding! What is the point of the program? Without program change response it's useless with any DAW and almost useless for live playing. It basically becomes a toy. How could you sell a product with this ridiculous limitation?

- Mr Rogoff (who evidently doesn't like the lack of program change on the M-Tron)
